Our Process
We believe in taking the extra steps needed to ensure a seamless process from contract signed to permission to operate. Our process is outlined below:
Site Survey
After the signed contract and proposal are submitted we schedule a site survey to capture accurate measurements, evaluate electrical and structural infrastructure. This critical first step lays the groundwork for a system tailored to the home’s unique specifications.
Design & Engineering
We procure a customized solar plan set based on survey data, proposed layout, energy goals, and local AHJ requirements. Every design is crafted to optimize performance, meet code, and ensure long-term reliability. At this stage, all plans are reviewed by our master electrician to ensure full compliance with electrical standards and safety codes. If any changes are required from the initial proposal, a final design is sent to the sales contact to confirm homeowner approval on the updated layout before moving forward.
Permitting & Interconnection
We handle all municipal permits and utility interconnection applications. With deep experience navigating local jurisdictions and utility processes, we ensure approvals move forward smoothly and without delays. Homeowner cooperation and/or signatures are typically required during this step.
Planning & Installation
Our operations team coordinates material delivery, installation scheduling, and any additional work that must occur before or alongside the installation—such as electrical upgrades or roof preparation. Every home is unique, and at SolShine, we recognize that no two installations are the same. We take the time to plan each project thoughtfully, ensuring that every detail is accounted for so the installation runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Final Inspection
After installation, we coordinate final inspections with the local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ). We prepare all necessary documentation and ensure the system passes on the first try—keeping the process moving forward without bottlenecks. Depending on the jurisdiction, they may require the homeowner to be on site for the inspection. Simultaneously our in house Master Electrician is completing a review of the project installation photos to ensure quality control measures.
Permission to Operate
Once final inspection approval is received, we submit the final documentation to the utility for PTO. We monitor the process closely, communicate updates, and confirm when the system is officially live and delivering value.
